Things are really looking up.  2020 was one of the best years The Ohlson Group has had, and it is all because of you. The title of this commentary is a little "tongue in cheek."  

Yes, we have been back in our Carmel, Indiana headquarters since May of last year.  We have followed, and will continue to follow, all of the state protocols.  But, as you have been seeing, things are starting to open up.  We have more of our advisors and agents now starting to meet face to face with their clients and prospects.  

I think that I can speak for many of my fellow Baby Boomers and say how much more confident one feels after they have their 2 vaccine shots.  Oh, and listen to this, we are seeing a renewed interest in seminar sales.  More on that later.

Let's focus on the "glass."  I have always been a "glass half full" guy -  I can't operate any other way.  There is still a lot of dark talk out there, and it can bring you down.  We are pulling out of this nightmare.  Thank God that the vaccines were developed in record time.  

Okay, digital sales leads and ZOOM meetings?  I think that they will be here for a very long time.  But, the phone call and the visit will always win the day.

We are rounding the corner.  The third vaccine is out, weather is warming up, and people are feeling more confident.  I know that all of this depends on where you live.  But, and I speak for myself, I am far more confident now that I have both vaccine doses.  So, I think that the possibility of more face-to-face meetings is on the horizon.  We are delighted and excited to see the business that comes our way as you face these new challenges.  

​I do think that there will continue to be many virtual first meetings as we go forward.  And, I know that many of you will continue to sell virtually as you have mastered the art.  But, either way, it is truly time to get back on the game if you haven’t already.  There has never been a better time to offer our products.  So, what to do?

I suggest that you use that “old fashioned” method of communication… the phone.  Your clients and prospects want to hear your voice.  They are concerned about the future and they are looking for a conversation.  Time to ask questions and find out “where it hurts.”  Then possibly a ZOOM next meeting, and then you and the client decide where to go next.
