Okay, I know I could have said "my husband is going to kill me," but I am speaking to the Baby Boomer Nation" where the man still "thinks" he is king.
This Boomer market is unique, as you know. A man and a woman get out of college, get jobs and get married. They work for a while and then start the family. Many times, the lady no longer works outside the home but toils at raising the kids in a way that is desirous of both mates. I must confess, it was much easier then... financially speaking. We did that... but it’s tougher today. And, before the ladies start throwing tomatoes, it might not be the best thing for the woman to give up the career. But, I digress... let's get back to the story in the next paragraph.
In the land where "the man thinks he is king,” he many times has been handling the investments, retirement etc. And he always told his wife when asked, "Honey, we are in great shape financially and there is no need to worry." WOW, is that a crock… The "Man who thinks he is king" had better hope that his wife pre-deceases him. In many cases, if "the king" goes first and the wife sees how short she is going to be financially, along with the mourning of her husband's loss, there will also be a lot of cursing by the spouse and family because of the mess he left.
Okay, let's get to the point - what this guy supposed to do? His life is closing in on him, he is soon to retire, etc. He needs to buy more life insurance. That's it... real simple. That is where we are making a lot of sales this year: 10 and 15 year term to help the "king" provide dream completion for his wife.
